Hi there, I'm April!
I am a self-proclaimed mini-entrepreneur who decided I wanted to be self-employed. I took what I thought was just a kid-dream and made it a reality…from scratch and literally created a business out of thin air! Over six years, I established a regionally-recognizable brand and successful cash-flowing business while maintaining enough self-awareness to evolve and reinvent on a regular basis.
When I was ready, I negotiated a sale, created an exit strategy, and transitioned the business to make space in my life for my next chapter:

HOW I GOT HERE
My Journey to Entrepreneurship
In hindsight, my career and life path has made complete sense, but in the moment, I would have never guessed it. Growing up with self-employed parents gave me a unique perspective on what life (and work) was and childhood norms shaped who I am today, most of which I didn’t realize were rare (or strange) until I was a young adult. From this upbringing, I developed a very strong work ethic & drive to explore, learn and grow both personally and professionally.
The variety in my work history has truly made me who I am today and given me a skill set that includes customer service, day-to-day logistic coordination, problem-solving, project management, operation, and system implementation, public speaking, marketing, and advertising, business accounting, staff supervision & leadership, an understanding of the value of web presence, money handling, networking and business-to-business relations and most importantly-how to self-reflect on my own skills and strengths.
My education complements my work experiences with an undergraduate degree in Speech/Communications, a minor in Leadership Studies, and a graduate degree in Project Management.

A Little More About Me
Self-starter, integrity, takes initiative, fearless and enthusiastic-these are some of the initial traits that came to mind when looking to take the leap and build a business.
Taking a risk like starting a business, listening to your heart more than your mind, or following your dreams instead of playing it safe-these are big leaps, scary-life-changing stuff…and I jump in with both feet, eyes wide open and my heart and soul ready to learn, grow and have fun! I’m just as afraid of the unknown, I stay up at night worrying from time to time, and drive those close to me crazy with all my “big ideas”…but what makes me rare is the DRIVE.
When I decide I want to do something – I do it.
Oh, and did I mention I like people?! I’m an extrovert by nature (ENFP for life) and find energy and inspiration when I’m around good, hard-working, open people.
Customer Service, relationships, and leadership management are my synergy…what makes my world go ‘round.

Becoming a Mom Changes Everything
Which came first, the MOM or the AWESOME? As an Entrepreneur first who became a mom… and then floundered to figure out what the hell I was doing, something had to give…or change for my sanity! I hadn’t painted a picture in my head as a young girl of navigating the balancing act between the two and actually, probably pretended like it wasn’t a balance I would ever have to figure out – after all, I was Awesome, right?! For me, having kids forced a well-needed reevaluation of my priorities, my values, and my life. And that reevaluation is a constant evolution!
This rare and unique place we find ourselves in, my dear, is humbling, frustrating, infuriating, exciting, and empowering-but harnessing all of this, while juggling a balancing act that includes maintaining your identity and adorable babes, can feel like an impossible mountain!
Well, I’ve climbed the mountain and the view from the top is breathtaking!! AND I’m a firm believer that rising tides raise all ships…so jump aboard and let’s do this together!
My Vision For Life
Living an Authentic Life & Creating a Legacy are common themes that I strive for in my personal growth and for my family. I truly believe we all have unique and amazing gifts and talents, and I’m reminded often that we all are on a journey and have a predetermined path that when we stop to look back shocks us with pride and excitement. BUT often we lose sight of our talents and what makes us GREAT. That’s where I rally! I’m the hard question asker, the truth teller, the instigator if you will… The Accountability Buddy who challenges your way of thinking, reasons for action and encourages empowerment to seek a fulfilling and wonderful life.

A good business is bigger than you or I... a good business grows, evolves, and leaves its own impact on the world... a good business is one of your legacies. This approach is so powerful to me that I feel it’s my responsibility to honor those who want to take the leap-change their life, start a business, grow a business, take a chance, listen to their inner voice, become more efficient and/or create a better fit between business and life. I'm here to be a resource, to share what I’ve learned in a supportive and inspiring way, and continue to discover my own personal journey while collaborating with brilliant minds and open hearts.
